So one of our most frequently as questions are can you smell each other poops in that small of a space. And the answer is no even with the cheap exhaust fan aka "fart fan". But after changing to the Delta Breeze exhaust fan we definitely don't in our tiny home.

I never really thought about exhaust fan quality until we started repping them for work, and there is a huge difference apparently. A whole science.

Tiffany the tiny home is spray foamed so she is tightly packed as can be pretty much. Nothing gets in and vice versa. Having good ventilation is important.

Sam's sister, Kristina, came over and said a few times that our bathroom smelled heavy and it took a good quality exhaust fan in our home for us to realize it. We had the equivalent of the typical $20 Home Depot fan already in our home. Now, these are good for the upfront price but spend a few dollars more and you get a better product to help to get that constant moisture out of the bathroom in a tiny home. A better fan will help with life longevity of other items in your bathroom, rust and lighting are the first in my head of course. Hence why we started to sell these for work. 😊

Some advantages on Delta motors compared to really any other exhaust fan manufacturer. First is the motor type. Delta started making DC brushless motors for the biggest computer manufacturers and now even make cooling fans for Tesla motors. So energy consumption is top on the list for them.

We rep Delta Fans for work and I choose the Slim series. Dimensions of this unit is 7.27 inches wide and 7.5 inches in length. Duct size is 3 inches.  And 70 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) typically this amount of CFM is used in a 50-79 sqft room, so about 30% of our entire home.

Delta Breeze DC motor (Slim series) exhaust fan uses about 1/4th of the energy of a traditional AC motor. If you would run your AC exhaust 365 days 24/7 it would cost you roughly around $50. With Deltas DC motor it will cost you $7!

Another advantage of having a Delta fan is when the fan gets clogged with dust it actually stops the motor and flashes an orange LED. A traditional AC motor will continue to run and eventually breaking down the motor inside.

Delta Slim series is extremely quiet compared to what you are used to getting at Home Depot. They calculate this by "Scones". Your typical $20 exhaust fans will be around 3-4 Scones, our Delta is less than 1.5. SUPER quiet! Delta makes some exhaust fans down to less than .03 scones

We opted into getting a humidity sensor on ours so that whenever the humidity is over 60% in the tiny home bathroom it automatically turns on and starts clearing the room. Great when I forget to turn it on high when we shower. Moisture in the bathroom is the number one contributor to eating away your lights and other things.

Install time was pretty short since we had an existing one. I actually just unscrewed the old Boran AC motor out and slipped the new Delta DC motor in. They are the same housing unit size (pretty standard) so it was perfect. The new installation is slightly more complicated because you have to run the wire to the housing unit as well as an air duct. Luckily in a tiny home, this isn't a huge system to do.

Overall it's been great. Performance-wise we have seen a significant decrease in steam in the tiny house bathroom and is super quiet. We haven't turned it off for a while in order to keep the humidity and moisture down and it has not impacted the electric bill.
